Universal Audio Volt & Volt Max | New USB Audio Interfaces

New Universal Audio Volt USB Audio Interfaces: Character in Every Recording

The second generation of Universal Audio Volt USB audio interfaces brings UA’s signature sound closer to every creator. With high-quality 32-bit audio conversion, Tone Shaping preamps on selected models, and smart features that simplify recording, the Volt series combines professional sound with ease of use.

Whether you’re recording vocals, guitar, and bass or producing music in your home studio, Volt helps you go from idea to recording with fewer adjustments and more focus on creating.

Tone Shaping Preamps: Give Your Sound Character

Clean recording is just the beginning. With Tone Shaping preamps on compatible Volt models, you can add a distinct character to your sound by choosing from three tonal options:

• Warmth: A rich, warm sound with added body, inspired by UA’s classic 610 tube preamp.
• Focus: A controlled, dynamic character, ideal for sources that need presence and clarity.
• Shine: An open, airy sound that brings out detail and high-frequency definition.

With a simple mode selection, you can shape your sound right at the input stage, before moving on to mixing.

Max Processing: Shape Your Dynamics While Recording

On the Volt 2 Max, Volt 4 Max, and Volt 4P Max, Max Processing offers six real-time compression presets designed for vocals, guitar, and bass.

Inspired by the sound of classic studio compressors such as the UA 1176 and LA-2A, these presets help control dynamics and provide ready-to-use tonal options without requiring a complex processing chain before recording.

32-Bit Audio Conversion: Detail in Every Take

The second-generation Volt series features 32-bit audio conversion, designed to capture performances in high detail while delivering the sound quality associated with Universal Audio.

Whether you’re capturing a spontaneous musical idea or working on a fully developed production, signal quality is the foundation of a reliable recording.

Smart Display, Auto-Gain & Clip Protection: More Control, Fewer Interruptions

Setting the right recording levels is essential for a clean take. On compatible Volt models, the color Smart Display clearly shows channels, levels, and selected settings.

Auto-Gain automatically adjusts the input level, while Clip Protection helps prevent digital distortion when unexpected peaks occur in the signal. This lets you focus on your performance instead of constantly watching the meters.

Smart Display, Auto-Gain, and Clip Protection are available on the Volt 2 Gen 2, Volt 4 Gen 2, and Volt Max models, but not on the Volt 1 Gen 2.

Record in the Studio, at Home, or on the Go

Volt audio interfaces are designed to connect easily and work with your favorite music applications. USB bus power means you can record without an external power supply, making it easier to create in different spaces and setups.

With a compatible computer, tablet, or mobile device and the appropriate application, you can capture ideas and performances wherever inspiration strikes.

Premium UAD Software: Tools for Your Production

The Volt experience is complemented by the UAD Volt Studio Bundle, which includes the LUNA DAW and a selection of production tools, such as EQs, compressors, synthesizers, and guitar amp plugins.

The bundle also includes additional software from partner developers, giving you more options for recording, processing, and music production. The exact software package and offer terms depend on the manufacturer’s current offer.

Find the Volt That Fits Your Needs

From a simple setup for personal recording to a more demanding project studio, the Volt series offers different connectivity options and features, helping you choose the audio interface that best suits your creative workflow.
