The ChordCat is a portable 8-track groovebox/sequencer that emphasizes harmonic (chord) creation.

It is designed to help both beginners and more experienced producers create progressive harmonies without requiring deep music theory knowledge.

Chord Cruiser Mode

• Provides over 110,000 chord combinations using an algorithm that selects harmonically “correct” chords.
• You can listen to the suggested chords and assign your favorite keys, and when you select one, the next suggestion is automatically activated.
• There are 18 preset “Chordsets”: 13 genre-based (e.g., House, Future Bass) and 5 basic (major, minor, etc.).
• You can lock key and scale, so only notes that fit are available — useful for harmonic consistency.
• ChordCat features LED indicators showing which notes/chords are compatible with the selected scale.

Sequencer

• 8 tracks: up to 8 separate lines (drums, melodies, bass, etc.).
• For each track: 16 patterns, each pattern up to 128 steps.
• Pattern Chain feature: combine different patterns to build larger structures or complete tracks.
• Running Direction: playback direction of step sequences can be changed — right, down, clockwise, counterclockwise — providing creative variations.

Sounds & Library

• 145 preset sounds: synthesizers, acoustic instruments, classic instruments, keyboards, and more.
• 16 drum kits / percussion sets.
• Features a low-pass filter and amp envelope for shaping the sound.

Effects

• Three built-in effects: Arpeggiator, Delay, Ducker.
• Effects are controlled via an XY pad, offering hands-on, real-time manipulation.

Connectivity & Integration

• MIDI: MIDI IN and MIDI OUT/THRU for connecting external synthesizers or other devices.
• USB-C: For computer/DAW communication and power supply.
• ChordCat Manager software is included for importing/exporting patterns to/from a computer.
• Ableton Live Lite is included in the package.

• Battery life with AA batteries is around 5 hours, depending on usage.
